Demand of China's top six TV companies for LCD panels have dropped in the fourth quarter of this year, said market researcher IHS on Friday.
Hisense, TCL, Skyworth, Haier, Changhong, and Konka planned to buy a total of 14.80 million LCD panels in the fourth quarter, down 16 percent from 17.70 million pieces in Q4 2014.
IHS analyst Nick Jiang held that weak sales and panel inventory adjustments led the domestic TV producers to adopt a more conservative strategy in restocking LCD panels.
Moreover, the price of LCD panels is expected to fall further by the end of the year as a result of oversupply of the products since 2014.
