China's rail transit equipment industry is expected to see its annual sales exceed 650 billion yuan by 2020, reported the Xinhua-run cnstock.com. By 2020, China's capacity in rail equipment development and its main products are expected to have reached advanced world-class levels, with sales to overseas markets taking up more than 30 percent of the total, according to the country's technology roadmap on key sectors for "Made in China 2025".

Coordinating the "Made in China 2025" plan, China will focus on development of high-speed multiple units, heavy-duty electric locomotives, inter-city electric multiple unit (EMU) trains, medium- and low-speed maglev products and related key parts and accessories in the next ten years. Among China's A-share companies, Gem-Year Industrial (601002.SH), Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology (600458.SH), and Jinxi Axle (600495.SH) are engaged in the manufacture of rail equipment and related parts and accessories, and therefore carry with them investment opportunities.
