Domestically produced robots are expected to take up more than half of the total in service across China by 2020, reported the Xinhua-run cnstock.com.

By 2020, the number of industrial robots in operation nationwide is estimated to reach 800,000 units -- double the figure at the end of 2015, according to a draft development plan for the robot industry in the five years between 2016 and 2020.

The robot industry will see swift expansion in the next five years with an output topping 100 billion yuan by 2020, analysts predict. Among China's A-share listed firms, Shenzhen Inovance Technology (300124.SZ), Shanghai STEP Electric (002527.SZ), Harbin Boshi Automation (002698.SZ), Siasun Robot & Automation (300024.SZ), and Canny Elevator (002367.SZ) are engaged in robot manufacturing.
