A China-Germany robot research center was jointly established by German smart manufacturing company IMBO and China's Zhejiang University in the Tianjin Binhai Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone on Sunday.
The research center will produce industrial and service robot products with world leading core technologies, in a bid to localize the production of core parts for robots in China. Despite the rapid development, China's robot industry is still relying on imports for core parts, including decelerator, servo motor, servo driver and controller, which restrained its development and international competitiveness.
With German technologies and experiences, the research center will become a Chinese leader in the fields of man-machine interaction, motion planning and mechanical arm.
