Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design Institute Co. (SMEDI) has completed the formulation of a national standard called Urban Utility Tunnel Project Technology Norms, according to a statement published on the Shanghai Municipal Government website on Thursday.
The utility tunnel projects designed and constructed by SMEDI in Wuhan city of central China's Hubei Province this year also got recognition by the National Development and Reform Commission, China's top economic planner. A total of 69 cities in China started the utility tunnel construction project in 2015 with a total length of about 1,000 kilometers.
