China's robot sales volume soared 76.8 percent year on year to 11,275 units in the first half of 2015, according to data released by the China Robot Industry Alliance (CRIA) on Thursday. Qu Daokui, director-general of CRIA, said that the market value of domestic robot products reached nearly 1.9 billion yuan in the first half of 2015, 1.8 times as much as the amount for the same period of last year. In auto industry the market value of domestic robot was 370 million yuan in the same period, ranking the first, followed by general equipment sector, chemical manufacturing sector and computer, communication and electronic equipment sector. Qu said the sales volume of coordinate robot accounted for 37 percent of the total in the first half of 2015, indicating domestic robot is still at the medium and low-end development level.
