Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI) launched a costal container port service assessment index on Monday.
The index tracks efficiency of cargo-handling, density of container liners and average duration of anchoring and auxiliary operation monitored via an automatic identification system, as well as appraisals from industry experts on multiple indicators including quality of service and single-unit operation costs.
Container ports in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Ningbo occupy the top three slots in the SISI appraisal system.
