China's Ministry of Transport issues guidelines of logistics industry

China's Ministry of Transport unveiled guidelines to reduce costs and improve efficiency of logistics industry, reported the Xinhua-run www.cnstock.com on August 15.

As the current supply-side reform requires the real economy enterprises to cut logistics costs, the guidelines put forward 19 tasks in five fields to achieve the goal.

By 2020, China is aimed to build a transportation and logistics service system featuring in convenience, efficiency and high-quality. In terms of optimizing infrastructure networks, China will continue to improve logistics channels, especially expanding and renovating those distributing in busy roads.

Meanwhile, facility conditions on cross-border logistics should also be perfected. The ministry will vigorously promote sharing and application of logistics information, and accelerate construction of national logistics big data center.

The guidelines clarify that China will make great efforts to develop multimodal transport, optimize rural logistics system and promote convenience of cross-border transportation, in a bid to provide powerful support for urbanization construction, regional integration and the Belt and Road Initiative.

Moreover, the ministry will try to establish a standard system in this regard, improve highway toll administration and supervision, as well as create an orderly market environment for the industry. The ministry has compiled a three-year action program to facilitating implementation of the guidelines and set specific timetable.
