Member steelmakers of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) reported daily average crude steel production of 1.6476 million tonnes for the first 10 days of September, up 0.18 percent from August 21-31.
The nationwide daily average production of crude steel is estimated at 2.12 million tonnes in Sept. 1-10, the CISA said. Most steelworks in north China did not resume normal production until Sept. 4, one day after the V-day parade completed on Sept. 3 in Beijing. By September 10, the major steelmakers had total steel inventories of 16.1733 million tonnes, up 5.6 percent from end August, the CISA said.
