China's Ministry of Land and Resources (MLR) has published a guideline to further standardize the administrative approval for rare earth and tungsten exploration and extraction, the China Land and Resources News reported on Friday.
According to the guideline, the MLR will continue suspension of new applications for rare earth exploration and extraction as well as tungsten extraction. Sales of rare earth exploration and extraction rights and extension of rare earth and tungsten extraction rights will be put under stricter supervision.
The Chinese government strictly controls the development of rare earth and tungsten in the country. China's rare earth and tungsten resources have received effective protection and been used rationally since the country started to set an upper limit for extraction, said a MLR official.
