Steel consumption in China's railway industry in 2015 is expected to fall 7.7 percent year on year to 4.8 million metric tons (tonnes), according to Li Xinchuang, head of China Metallurgical Industry Planning and Research Institute on Monday. In 2015, China's investment in railway industry remained high. However, as a lot of railway lines were at the stage of debugging or infrastructure construction, the amount of track-laying under construction fell, said Li.
