China decided to implement a tiered electricity pricing system for the cement enterprises in an effort to promote structural adjustment in the cement industry, according to a circular released by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on Thursday.
The tiered electricity pricing system for the domestic cement industry will be based on comprehensive electricity consumption of clinker (cement) and implemented on an annual basis from January 1 to December 31.
The country will properly adjust electricity consumption grading and price hike standards for the tiered electricity pricing system according to actual situation and the local governments can also increase efforts to implement the system and raise the electricity price hike standards for the cement enterprises.
