China's housing inventory pressure is expected to be further eased in 2016 along with gradual practices of a flock of destocking and market-stabilizing measures pushed ahead by the central government, according to a report by the China Index Academy (CIA).

According to CIA statistics, new house prices in China's 100 major cities averaged 10,980 yuan per cubic meter in December 2015, up 0.74 percent from that of November, marking a rise for eight straight months.

The CIA forecast that the housing price index for the 100 major cities may continue steady buoyancy in 2016 with housing prices in some high-inventory cities to be reduced somewhat while those in hotspot cities expected to rise due to brisk demand and high land prices.
