China's radio authority will join hands with China's operators

China's radio authority will join hands with China's three basic telecom operators in the administration of radio big data, an official said at the Wireless China Industry Summit 2015 opened on Wednesday.

Liu Yan, head of the State Radio Monitoring Center, said that the three telecom giants own more than three million base stations, more than six million WLAN hotspots and over 1.2 billion mobile network users, which create vast data resources throughout the country.

Liu said the Radio Regulatory Bureau of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the telecom giants, namely China Mobile (CHL.NYSE; 00941.HK), China Unicom (CHU.NYSE; 00762.HK; 600050.SH) and China Telecom (CHA.NYSE; 00728.HK), will jointly explore the data monitoring and collection capability of telecom equipment and mobile terminals, to achieve administration of radio big data.
