China's has become the world's largest robot producer for two consecutive years and the country's robot industry has entered a golden era. Statistics released by China Robot Industry Alliance (CRIA) show that the sales volume of China's industrial robots grew 58.9 percent year on year on average from 2009 to 2014, and the domestic sales of robots in 2014 reached 57,000 units, making the country the world's largest robot producer for two consecutive years since 2013.
Song Xiaogang, secretary general of CRIA, said China's robust growth of industrial robot boosted the development of global robot industry. The sales volume of industrial robots across the world topped 225,000 units in 2014, hitting a new record high.
Song reckons that the robust growth of China's robot market over the past few years is attributable to the guidance of industrial policies as well as huge industrial foundation. CRIA has been drafting the industrial standards of robot as commissioned by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
