At the symposium on innovation, technological cooperation and international technology transfer on here as of Monday, the electronization of Slovakia and the exchange of experience between 16 countries of central and eastern Europe and China was also discussed.

Tang Xinbing of Huawei Fixed Network company pointed out the importance of broadband internet access. Ronald Strehar of the Slovak finance ministry's informatization department presented the current state of affairs regarding the e-government in Slovakia.

"We won't create any electronic services in Slovakia, so long as the broadband Internet access is lacking. Looking back at the period of the past two to three years, China could serve as a role model because the rapid growth it has recorded in the sphere of electronic services is beyond anything experienced by most EU countries," expressed Strehar.

The private sector should lend a hand to the state in the process of acquiring and developing foreign experiences that Slovakia lacks. "The electronization is a global, worldwide phenomenon. Foreign private partners are key. We need new networks, servers and that's the opportunity for private companies," stressed Strehar.

The symposium is being attended by experts from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia and China.
