China Tower Co., Ltd., a comprehensive communications facility-related services provider jointly established by China's three basic telecom operators, has put forward a special planning to combine the base station site selection with local planning to make full use of existing base stations.

By taking part in the local planning, China Tower integrates the construction demands of the three telecom operators, namely China Mobile (CHL.NYSE; 00941.HK), China Unicom (CHU.NYSE; 00762.HK; 600050.SH) and China Telecom (CHA.NYSE; 00728.HK), cooperate with local government, to simplify relevant procedure for deciding the sites of base stations; for existing base stations, the special planning make it easier for them to be recognized by local government.

The move aims to better facilitate the implementation of China's national broadband strategy and telecom operators' construction of 4G networks.
