Northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region plans to open its telecom market to private capital next year, according to a document issued by the local government recently.
The document is the guidance on boosting high-speed broadband network construction, increasing Internet speed, and lowering Internet charges. It says Ningxia will launch mobile telecom resale business in 2016 and introduce in ten private-funded virtual carriers step by step.
Niangxia will support private enterprises to launch cooperation with basic telecom operators, in a bid to boost orderly competition among telecom operators, Internet enterprises, broadcasting and TV enterprises and IT content providers, and make them to complement each others' advantages.
Besides, the document also said Ningxia will popularize tri-network integration at the end of this year, which means the convergence of thee telecom, Internet and broadcasting networks into a united complete system. That activity is expected to push telecom operators to lower the average fee for fixed-line broadband access by 30 percent.
