China's IC output grows 8 pct on yr in Jan.-Aug., to 70.15 bln units

China's electronics and IT manufacturing industry produced 70.15 billion units of integrated circuits (IC) in the first eight months of 2015, growing eight percent year on year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Meanwhile, the output of semiconductor discrete devices was 375.4 billion units, up 5.5 percent year on year. The industry's electronic devices business posted 1,078 billion yuan of sales value in the period, up 12.4 percent year on year.

The growth rate was 3.8 percentage points higher than that for the year-earlier period and 4.2 percentage points higher than the electronics and IT manufacturing industry's average.

 In a breakdown, the export delivery value was 643.3 billion yuan, up 7.9 percent year on year. The growth rate was 5.3 percentage points higher than that for the year-earlier period and 7.8 percentage points higher than the industry's average. The domestic sales value was 434.7 billion yuan, up 19.9 percent year on year.

The growth rate was 3.7 percentage points higher than the industry's average. The output of electronic components reached 2,245.64 billion units in the eight months, down 5.3 percent year on year. The industry's electronic components business posted 1,131.8 billion yuan of sales value in the period, rising eight percent year on year.

The growth rate went down 1.5 percentage points year on year and was 0.2 percentage point lower than the industry's average. Among the total sales, 400.5 billion yuan was contributed by exports, down eight percent year on year; and 731.3 billion yuan was contributed by the domestic market, up 19.5 percent year on year.
