China has completed gene sequencing of more than 70 percent of important crops including the rice, wheat, corn and cucumber and initially mastered functions and characteristics of the genetic gene of those crops, with its research leading the international peers, according to the Agricultural Genomics 2015, the Xinhua-run cnstock.com reported on Wednesday.
The Agricultural Genomics 2015 is held in south China's Shenzhen in November 16-18. Although China makes relatively slow progress in the commercialization of the genetically modified crops, the commercialization will be a trend, said analysts of the Changjiang Securities (000783.SZ). On China's A-share market, Hefei Fengle Seed (000713.SZ), Wanxiang Doneed (600371.SH), and Yuan Longping High-tech Agriculture (000998.SZ) are engaged in the genetically modified business.
