The integrated circuit (IC) investment funds established and being established by local governments in China amounted to around 140 billion yuan, said Wei Shaojun, president of China Semiconductor Industry Association IC Design Branch, on Thursday.
Wei said at a forum that the national IC fund create a sound environment for the development of China's IC industry. The local IC investment funds will ease the capital shortage of China's IC design enterprises, he added. In the first nine months of this year, China's IC industry registered 254.05 billion yuan of sales value, up 19.5 percent year on year. The market scale is expected to total 1.2 trillion yuan in 2015.
