China will likely strengthen its policy supports to the application of GaN-on-Si technology, which will cast huge influence on the entire LED industry, the Xinhua-run cnstock.com reported on Tuesday.
It is expected that the high optical efficiency GaN based blue LED on silicon substrate project, which is developed with the GaN-on-Si technology, will win the National First Prize for Technological Invention next January.
According to industry insiders, the GaN-on-Si technology is an independently developed technology route of China. China has its complete proprietary intellectual property right and will use it to build industrial standards for China's LED industry.
