China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) will steadily promote its tri-networks integration business across the whole nation, according to the ministry's 2016 work conference held on Thursday.
The tri-networks integration refers to the convergence of the telecommunication, internet and broadcasting networks into one complete system.
Meanwhile, the ministry will formulate an action plan to build high-speed broadband networks and reduce internet access fees and will make efforts to achieve full fiber-optic network coverage in all the 284 Chinese cities with districts, with above 20M high-speed broadband users taking up more than 50 percent of the total and the number of 4G users hitting 600 million, according to the conference.
