China has entered the key phase of the strictest-ever thermal pollution discharge transformation, and the huge and tough project contains great market potential.
China initiated the super low emission green transformation on China's thermal power generating units after the adoption of the strictest-ever thermal pollution discharge standard in July of 2014, targeting to reduce gas emission of thermal power units to the level of gas engines after green transformation.
This would require huge investment and new technologies. As the largest coal production and power output base, Shanxi Province plans to finish green transformation on 15-million-kilowatt thermal power generating units, accounting for a third of the total yet-to-be-transformed units in Shanxi, said Li Xiaopeng, provincial governor of Shanxi. By the end of 2014, China's power installed capacity topped 1.3 billion kilowatts, including 900 million kilowatts of thermal power.
