Three pump storage power station projects including Hebei Fengning Phase II project, Shandong Wendeng project and Chongqing Panlong project kicked off construction on Wednesday, according to a report by Economics Information Daily.
This is the second batch of pump storage power stations that start construction together after Anhui Jinzhai, Shandong Yimeng and Henan Tianchi pump storage power stations which started construction together this June.
Total investment for the above six power stations is estimated to be more than 46 billion yuan, according to the report.
Pump storage power station investment is likely to exceed 400 billion yuan in the following five years and the years in 2016-2018 are expected to see a peak of orders which might benefit key equipment manufacturers, according to industry insiders.
