The No.3 generating unit of the Phase II project of Guodian Taizhou power plant, the world's first 1-million-kilowatt ultra supercritical re-fired thermal power generating unit, lately has started commercial operation with concurrent operation of desulfurization and denitration equipment.
The Phase II project of Guodian Taizhou power plant, with total investment of 8.61 billion yuan, would build up two sets of 1-million-kilowatt ultra supercritical re-fired thermal power generating units.
The project is a demonstrative thermal power project of the National Energy Administration and the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and also a national project with key scientific and technological support set by the Ministry of Science and Technology for energy saving and emission reduction in 2011-2015.
Coal consumption of power generation of the project is designed at 256.2 grams/kilowatt-hour, 6 grams/kilowatt-hour lower than current world's best level.
After the two units went into operation, Taizhou would become the largest thermal power generation base in Jiangsu province.
