China would build additional 5.3 GW of solar photovoltaic (PV) power stations in 2015 upon original plan of 17.8 GW in the year, according to a recent notice by the National Energy Administration (NEA).
Incremental solar PV power stations would be located in new energy demonstration cities, green energy demonstration counties and other areas with good geological conditions, remarkable records and innovative development modes.
In particular, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Hebei province and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region would see building of more new solar PV power stations. Building of the new solar PV power stations should be started in 2015 and on-grid operation should be in place by June 30, 2016.
