China can recycle up to 3 million tonnes of renewable resources by 2020, Liu Qiang, vice chairman of China National Resources Recycling Association (CRRA), said on a recent forum.
There are about 200,000 recycling sites and 10,000 recycling firms across China, employing some 15 million people. In many areas, the recycling industry has become a leading industry that stimulates local economies, Liu said. Since 2008, China has used more than 200 million tonnes of recycled resources.
