The construction plan for the Xilin Gol League-Jiangsu Taizhou ultra high voltage (UHV) direct current (DC) power transmission project has received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), according to State Grid East Inner Mongolia Electric Power Company.
When completed, the project could deliver about 55 billion kwh of electricity to Jiangsu Province annually which would become China's largest UHV DC power transmission project in terms of transmission capacity, according to a source with the power company.
The project could also help advance air pollution prevention and control in the Yangtze River Delta Region, according to the source.
