CGN buys 13 clean energy assets from Malaysian player

China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN), one of Chinese leading clean energy companies, Monday announced that it had signed an equity purchase agreement with Malaysian energy company Edra Global Energy Bhd.

CGN would buy 13 clean energy projects from the latter and the projects are scattered in Malaysia, Egypt, Bengal, Pakistan and United Arab Emirates (UAE). As many as 12 projects in the deal are fueled by natural gas and the 13 projects have total power generation capacity of 5.557 GW, according to CGN. Settlement of the deal would be completed within half a year, said a release by CGN.

Upon conclusion of the deal, CGN would have 34 GW of installed clean energy power generation capacity including 14.65 GW of nuclear power generation capacity.
