State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) has inked a cooperation agreement with Nuclear Energy Corporation of South Africa (Necsa) on CAP1400 nuclear project management recently.
According to the agreement, Necsa will send managers of nuclear power projects in South Africa to have training course provided by the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), parent company of SNPTC, at the site of demonstrative CAP1400 project of SNPTC. Furthermore, SPIC is going to submit a tender for nuclear project bidding in South Africa.
According to the nuclear power development plan of South Africa, the country is planning to build nuclear power generating units with total installed capacity of 9.6 million kilowatts before 2030, and will launch nuclear project bidding this year.
