China's top leaders signaled during the annual Central Economic Work Conference on Monday that electricity price would be lowered and the reform of electricity pricing mechanism would be advanced.
A report by China Securities Journal on Wednesday quoted a source with an electricity plant in Shandong as saying that the price cut is likely to take place at the end of the year or no later than January and the average reduction would be 0.03 yuan per kilowatt-hour across the country.
