Vietnam spent 755 million U.S. dollars importing 818,000 tons of paper between January and May, up 11.1 percent in value and up 0.6 percent in volume on-year, according to its Ministry of Industry and Trade on Monday.
Vietnam imported roughly 2 million tons of paper of various kinds totaling nearly 1.7 billion U.S. dollars last year, with the biggest import market being China, followed by Indonesia, Japan, South Korea and Thailand.
Meanwhile, Vietnam reaped total paper and paper product export turnovers of 732 million U.S. dollars, with the biggest export market being China, tailed by the United States and Japan.
