Myanmar's border trade with four neighboring countries -- China, India, Thailand and Bangladesh -- hit 823 million U.S. dollars as of Nov. 9 of the current new fiscal year 2018-19 which began in October, the official Global New Light of Myanmar reported Monday.
The border trade during the period was up by 98 million U.S. dollars as compared with the same period of last year which stood at 725 million U.S. dollars, the Ministry of Commerce was quoted as saying.
Of the over one month's border trade, the export shared 550 million U.S. dollars, while the import took 273 million U.S. dollars.
Myanmar's border trade with China is mainly done via Muse, Lweje, Kanpikete, Chinshwehaw and Kengtung gates.
The Muse point saw the largest border trade value estimated at over 410 million U.S. dollars during the period.
According to earlier report, in the last six-month mini-budget or transitional period from April to September this year, Sino-Myanmar border trade at the five gates were valued at 3.3 billion U.S. dollars.
In accordance with the figures of the Commerce Ministry, bilateral trade between Myanmar-China totaled 11.8 billion U.S. dollars in last fiscal year 2017-18 which ended in March.
Myanmar exports agricultural products, forest products, animal products, minerals, fishery products and manufactured goods, while it imports capital goods, raw industrial materials and consumers products.
