China's stock exchange-traded T-bonds ended up Monday on investors' rising demand for safe-haven assets. The Government Bond Index on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) closed up 0.02 percent at 149.63 points. Turnover swelled 82.98 percent to 303.75 million yuan.

Traders noted that though the central bank cut both the benchmark interest rates and requirement reserve ratio (RRR) on Saturday, the domestic stock market continued to plunge on Monday, which sapped investor risk appetite and added some boosts to the bond market due to a seesaw effect. SSE Corporate Bond Index ended up 0.06 percent at 188.33 points Monday. Turnover withered 29.84 percent to 1.81 billion yuan. SSE-quoted convertibles posted losses on Monday with 4 decliners and 1 flat. Shanghai Composite Index slumped 3.34 percent to close at 4,053.03 points on the same day.
