Bank of Communications (BOCOM; 601328.SH ) announced on Oct. 28 that it was among the lead underwriters and the only financial agent of the 5-billion-yuan one-year bills issued by China's central bank last Tuesday in London.
The bills, the first-ever dim sum bond issued by the People's Bank of China (PBOC), with a yield of 3.10 percent, was five-times oversubscribed.
BOCOM has been an underwriter or a financial agent for overseas RMB-denominated bond offerings for eight times in the last six years.
The bank set up a financial market business centre in Hong Kong this January, which focuses on fields like fixed income investments and foreign exchange trading.
