China's first green covered bonds got listed in the London Stock Exchange on November 11.
The three-year dollar-denominated bonds, issued by the Bank of China, bear a coupon rate of 1.875 percent. 500 million U.S. dollars were raised through the issuance.
Tian Guoli, chairman of Bank of China, noted that green finance is not only the national strategy, but also a good platform to manifest social responsibility.
Bank of China will work with the British party to build a green finance market.
In January, Chinese and British central banks have formed a G20 green finance research team in a bid to enhance green finance innovation and promote interconnection of green bond market at home and abroad. China has become the biggest green bond market in the world.
