Chinese interbank bonds held by overseas institutions near 4 trillion yuan

SHANGHAI, March 11 (Xinhua) -- By the end of February, bonds in China's interbank market held by overseas institutions reached 3.99 trillion yuan (about 630 billion U.S. dollars), official data showed Friday.

The figure accounts for 3.4 percent of the total custody of the country's interbank bond market, according to a report released by the People's Bank of China Shanghai Head Office.

In February, five new overseas institutional investors entered China's interbank bond market, bringing the total to 1,025, the report showed.
