China's auto inventory up 4.9 percent in May, CAAM

Automakers in China recorded their total automobile inventory at 1.37 million units at the end of May, rising 4.9 percent in comparison with 1.3 million at the month's beginning, according to the latest data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In a breakdown, the inventory of passenger cars stood at 1.11 million units at end-May, rising 6.5 percent in the month, and the inventory of commercial cars was 256,000 units, down 1.7 percent.
