Chinese apparent consumption of product oil expanded 2.2 percent year on year to 24.52 million tonnes in August, according to a release by the National Development and Reform Commission on Monday.
In particular, the consumption of gasoline grew 13.6 percent while the consumption of diesel sank 5.6 percent year on year. China processed 40.37 million tonnes of crude oil in August up 2.8 percent year on year.
Monthly output of crude oil and product oil stood at 18.3 million tonnes and 25.15 million tonnes in August increasing 4.9 percent and 3.7 percent year on year, respectively. Product oil stocks by the end of September were 1.6 million tonnes less from a month ago but 2.69 million tonnes higher from the same time of 2014.
