Canadian Solar (CSIQ.NASDAQ), one of the world's largest solar power companies in China, has updated its business outlook for the third quarter of 2015.
In a release on its website, the company said that it now expected its total solar module shipments for the third quarter to be in the range of approximately 1.18-1.23 GW, compared to its previous guidance of being in the range of 970 MW to 1.02 GW.
Meanwhile, the company now expects its total revenue during the period to be in the range of 805-815 million US dollars, compared to previous guidance of being in the range of 570-620 million US dollars.
Gross margin for the third quarter of 2015 is expected to be at or slightly above the high end of previous guidance, which was in the range of 12-14 percent.
The company attributes the stronger performance to stronger-than-expected demand in its solar module business, led by the U.S., the U.K., Canada and Japan.
The company also benefited from the sale of a controlling interest in its 200 MW Tranquillity project in California, it said.
