NEW YORK, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices declined on Friday as weak data led to investors' concerns about sluggish demand.

ISM manufacturing index declined to 54.2 percent, hitting the lowest level since November 2016, according to the Institute for Supply Management on Friday.

Analysts said the bearish data gave rise to concerns over falling demand for crude oil.

The West Texas Intermediate for April delivery decreased 1.42 U.S. dollars to settle at 55.80 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, and Brent crude for May delivery was down 1.24 dollars to close at 65.07 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
