The transaction volume in China's onshore money market totaled 42.6 trillion yuan in May, up 89.2 percent on a yearly basis and also an increase of 22.6 percent from a month ago, according to a monthly report released by the central bank on Wednesday.
In the first five months of the year, onshore money market transactions amounted to 152 trillion yuan.
The report also showed that the weighted average of interbank offered rate fell 107 basis points from April to 1.42 percent in May.
