The U.S. dollar changed hands in the lower 118 yen range in early deals in Tokyo.
At the start of trade, the dollar was quoted at 118.22-24 yen compared with 118.01-11 yen in New York and 118.09-11 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. on Thursday. The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.0856-0858 dollars and 128.35-37 yen against 1.0861-0871 dollars and 128.24-34 yen in New York and 1.0859-0860 dollars and 128.24-28 yen in Tokyo late Thursday afternoon.
