The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 105 yen range in early trade on Thursday morning in Tokyo after the U.S. Federal Reserve leaving its key interest rate unchanged saw it retreat to a 20-month low.
As markets opened, the dollar was quoted at 105.87-91 yen compared with 105.95-106.05 yen in New York and 106.24-26 yen at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Tokyo. The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1260-1262 dollars and 119.22-23 yen against 1.1255-1265 dollars and 119.31-41 yen in New York and 1.1219-1220 dollars and 119.19-23 yen in late trade on Wednesday afternoon in Tokyo.
