The U.S. dollar changed hands in the mid-109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Friday, largely in line with its levels seen in New York overnight.
As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 109.50-51 yen compared with 109.49-59 yen in New York and 109.26-27 yen at 5 p.m. on Thursday in Tokyo.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1798-1799 dollars and 129.19-23 yen against 1.1794-1804 dollars and 129.26-36 yen in New York and 1.1792-1794 dollars and 128.84-88 yen in late Thursday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
