The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 107 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Friday, marginally higher than its levels in New York overnight.
As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 107.86-87 yen compared with 107.65-75 yen in New York at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1390-1391 dollars and 122.85-86 yen against 1.1389-1399 dollars and 122.56-66 yen in late Thursday afternoon trade in New York.
Financial markets here were closed from Monday to Thursday for holidays.
