Dollar changes hands in upper 109 yen range in early trade in Tokyo

TOKYO, May 13 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 109 yen range in early deals in Tokyo on Monday, dropping from its levels in New York late last week.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 109.66-67 yen compared with 109.90-110.00 yen in New York and 109.76-77 yen at 5 p.m. on Friday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1235-1235 dollars and 123.19-20 yen against 1.1231-1241 dollars and 123.46-56 yen in New York and 1.1225-1226 dollars and 123.21-25 yen in late Friday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
