Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) agricultural commodities closed lower on Tuesday, with wheat futures falling over 2 percent, just after Monday's surge based on investors' short-covering.
The most active corn contract for December delivery went down 4.75 cents, or 1.28 percent to close at 3.665 dollars per bushel. December wheat delivery dropped 12 cents, or 2.31 percent to close at 5.0775 dollars per bushel. January 2019 soybean delivery was down 5 cents, or 0.57 percent to close at 8.7825 dollars per bushel.
CBOT corn futures fell, following broad declines in commodities led by sagging crude oil futures, and soybean futures were also lower.
As for weather forecast for agricultural crop, light snow is expected in parts of southern Illinois, southern Indiana, and southeastern Missouri on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
