The most active crude oil contract for May delivery fell by daily limit, came down 21.6 yuan (about 3.12 U.S. dollars) to close at 338.1 yuan a barrel.
The total trading volume for 14 listed crude oil futures contracts on the exchange was 752 lots only, with a turnover of about 268 million yuan.
China launched the crude oil futures trading, which is open to overseas investment, in March 2018.
